Project Description:
The purpose of this project is to improve the health care of Medicaid-enrolled individuals statewide through: 1) training and technical assistance for Medicaid providers in identifying children with developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorders and in how to use evidence-based and/or best practice interventions; 2) case management or care coordination for specific populations and 3) outreach and referral. The project focuses on five specific areas: Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder; Autism Spectrum Disorder; Medically Fragile children and adults who also have a DD; early identification and intervention for infants and children with environmental risks for developmental; and early identification and intervention for infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities. Non-federal funds are matched to expand current training, technical assistance and services.
