Project Description:
Detroit youth are among the most overweight in the nation. Our multidisciplinary team will conduct focus groups with teachers, parents and children in the city of Detroit to determine barriers to physical activity and fitness in an urban setting and ways of overcoming these barriers. The expected benefit of this project is a better understanding of barriers to physical activity and fitness in Detroit so that intervention programs can be tailored to overcome them.
