Project Description:
Students with dual sensory impairments are often identified as having another primary disability and therefor do not receive the specialized supports and services they require for optimal development and learning. This statewide project attempts to identify students with deafblindness, provide training and technical assistance to professionals and families and provide family support and networking.It is expected that educators and health professionals will become more aware of this population and the needs of these youth and their families and that high quality educational programs and services for these youth and their families will be more accessable, statewide.
