RRTC on Lifespan Health and Function and Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities
Project Description:
The mission of this Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) is build on the former RRTC on Aging with Developmental Disabilities to promote the full community participation of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) across the lifespan and to bolster family caregiving capacity through a coordinated set of evidence-based research, training, and dissemination activities. Its goals are to: 1) improve the health and function of adults with I/DD, 2) enhance consumer-directed home and community based long-term care, 3) reduce environmental barriers to health and community participation, and 4) improve assessment tools and outcome measures of health and function, consumer direction, and community participation.
