Project Description:
This project is an exploration of the impact of managed care on people with physical disabilities receiving Medicaid in Illinois. The Integrated Care Program (ICP) is operated by risk-based Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) in a pilot area of Illinois; the MCOs receive a capitated payment for managed the medical care and long-term supports and services for people with disabilities and older adults eligible for Medicaid. The research will explore differences in healthcare satisfaction and needs; health and functional status; hospital and emergency room service utilization; and receipt of preventative services and screenings.
