Project Description:
In Spring 2013, TSR released a Request for Applications (RFA) to select new Lead Agents to implement TSR in local communities for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school years. In May 2013, 38 Lead Agents were selected from across Texas. In 2013-2104, TSR will impact 40,000 children and 2,200 early childhood teachers in 1,100 schools across Texas. Beginning in 2013, TSR Lead Agents worked with home-based child care providers in their local areas, in addition to school-based and center-based early childhood teachers. These home-based child care providers received free school readiness materials and access to an online professional development system, known as Beginning Education: Early Childcare at Home (BEECH). BEECH, available in English and Spanish, was specifically designed to build skills in home-based child care providers. Lead Agents also provided free trainings on the Infant, Toddler, and Three-Year-Old Early Learning Guidelines in their communitities, not just to teachers participating in TSR.
