Fiscal Year:

Contact Information:
Project Description:
Improvements in diagnostic tools and a greater level of professional education have allowed the identification of autism in two year olds and in even younger children. This project is part of a multi-site randomized clinical trial of early intensive behavioral intervention for toddlers with autism. Project goals are to: 1) assess the efficacy of early intensive behavioral intervention for improving outcomes for children with autism that can inform decisions regarding individualized interventions; and 2) to obtain outcome data on intervention models and effectiveness for children who begin treatment by or before 24 months of age.
