Project Description:
Project Context The Center for Technical Assistance for Excellence in Special Education (TAESE) is the technical assistance division of the Center for Persons with Disabilities at the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services at Utah State University. Project Focus The Oregon State Education Agency (SEA) is required to provide, under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), a general supervision system that leads to IDEA compliance requirements and improved results for children and youth with disabilities. This proposed contract will assist with both of those goals. TAESE will assist the Oregon Special Education Office in addressing the requirements of the SPP (parent involvement) indicator. TAESE will assist in analyzing the data and preparing a report for the February 2015 and 2016 submission of the APR to the Office of Special Education Programs. TAESE will provide ongoing professional development for dispute resolution and SEA staff in order to improve Oregons dispute resolution process. TAESE will provide assessmentsEducational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)for interested interpreters in Oregon public schools. This will be in collaboration with Boys Town Research Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.
