Project Description:
The EDN Family Partner position attends Co-Lead meetings of the Early Development Network and participates as a member of the team, overseeing EDN activities with a focus on family but also other Early Intervention policy issues. The EDN Family Partner also serves as a technical advisor to the Early Childhood Interagency Coordinating Council, with an emphasis on providing technical assistance to the family representatives and informational support on EI family concerns generally, but also participating in other activities related to EI policy issues in addition including work groups and committees, for example the Positive Behavioral Support initiative currently being piloted in Nebraska. This project also involves national activities, for example the establishment of the Early Intervention Family Alliance, a parent organization focused on national policy objectives involving Early Intervention. Activities are assigned by the Co-Lead team as part of its prioritization of duties for the project. This project includes collaboration with the Nebraska Department of Education, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, PTI-Nebraska, the Head Start State Collaboration Office, Head Start Provider agencies and training providers, The Nebraska Department of Insurance, representatives of the Unicameral, the University of Nebraska, Pediatric Medical providers, Childcare providers, local educational and service coordination providers, Mental Health providers, Resource and Referral providers, and Tribal organizations.
