Project Description:

Some people with mental health issues currently residing in nursing homes may prefer to live in the community. The major goal of this grant is to find 10 such people in local nursing homes and transition them out, setting up the services and housing they need in the community. Other, more general goals of this project are as follows: 1. To study the states overall compliance with Fair Housing standards and make suggestions for improvements. 2. To inform proffessionals outside of the disability arena of the housing needs of people with disabilities and their duties under Fair Housing. 3. Study the overall inventory of accessible housing state wide and take part in increasing this as necessary.
