Project Description:

Continuation of the Building Leadership Series Part II -- Advocacy and Leadership Training. The series is again designed for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, to inform and further educate them on topics most often requested by participating BLS participants. In addition to learning these topical areas, attendees will have numerous opportunities to practice speaking up, advocating for themselves and ot hers as well as enhancing their leadership skills. Topics proposed: relationships, romance and intimacy: how do I get friends and find love?; community membership/civic engagement: how do I get involved with my community? and healthy living/healthy aging: how do I get and stay healthy and how do I partner with my doctors?
