Project Description:
Active Support engagement training designed to fit the outcomes of the "Life Builders," program. This includes a rewrite of the standard 12 hour Active Support training curriculum into a 4 hour session specifically designed for and facilitated by an expert Active Support trainer with 25 Life Builders project participants, including 80 hours of curriculum synthesis and re-design presentation/facilitation. Materials for all participants in the training, including participant handouts and exercises that can be replicated and used in practice Each Participating agency will receive a copy of the Person Centered Active Support curriculum by Jim Mansell et al and a copy of Active Support; Organisational Preperation and Implementation by McVilly et al for reference purposes. Up to 15 two-hour follow-up sessions including a combination of mentoring of Life Builder in applying an engagement protocol and or engagement primers for agency staff at their site/s ongoing participation in the learning and skills building community in a mentor role until end of contract year.
