Project Description:
Developed a life span approach to evaluation and research of issues impacting families. Pilot studies addressed: Usability enhancement of Web-based health information--navigation aids for older adults; magnetic resonance analysis of cognitive function in adults; development of in vivo high spatial resolution proton spectroscopy techniques to characterize proton metabolites of human muscles; a generalizability theory method for providing causal evidence that social relationships influence affect; the Human Genome Project--What does it mean for families who have children with genetic-related disabilities?; maternal reactions to child handicaps; psychosocial factors influencing patients' health behavior following coronary revascularization; Latino families and hospice utilization; lymphedema prophylaxis utilizing preoperative education; and osteoporosis and women with disabilities.
