Nevada Integrated Employment Resource Center
Project Description:
This resource center is a collaboration of programs, agencies, businesses, and people that are interested in making Nevada's workforce more integrated for Nevadans with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (ID/DD). It includes activities to make Nevada an Employment First state, activities to change legislative policy that supports integrated employment for persons with ID/DD, training for community rehabilitation providers, training for parents, businesses, and persons with ID/DD. The resource center will also generating external funding to carry out these aforementioned activities. The need is critical with only 5%-8% of Nevadans with ID/DD working in the community for competitive wages. Overall goals include generating funding through the 2015 legislature, developing a subcommittee on the NGCDD, NV becoming an Employment First state, working in the priorities set forth in the ad hoc committee.
