Project Description:
The Oklahoma Person Centered Thinking (PCT) project is a collaborative effort to increase person-centered practices throughout Oklahoma. The project partners include the Oklahoma Developmental Disabilities Council, the Oklahoma Disability Law Center, Bios (a provider agency), and Oklahoma People First. The goal of the project is to increase the capacity of Oklahoma service providers, families and self-advocates in Person-Centered Thinking skills and approaches with an end result of improving the lives of people with developmental disabilities. The primary activities of the project include: 1) supporting and mentoring certified trainers, 2) providing training to service providers, families and people with disabilities in tools and methods of the Person-Centered Thinking approach, 3) providing technical assistance in individual plan facilitation to support people with disabilities in the state, and 3) working with project partners to address systems change opportunities that emerge as a result of the project work in the community.
