Project Description:
The North Dakota Autism Waiver Evaluation/Diagnostic Team is responsible for evaluating children ages birth to five to confirm a previous autism diagnosis or to provide an initial autism diagnosis of autism for children referred through North Dakota?s Autism Waiver Program. The team is comprised of highly qualified professionals in the following disciplines: Pediatricians, psychologists, occupational therapists, physicals therapists, speech language pathologists, early childhood educators, special educators/autism specialists, and behavior analysts. These professionals span across the state and serve in their capacity to provide diagnostic services for North Dakota. As a child?s Evaluation/Diagnostic Team is formed through collaboration between the NDCPD Program Coordinator, the Developmental Disabilities Program Manager, and the family all efforts will be made to guarantee that the individual team members are not and will not provide direct intervention services to the child prior to or after the diagnostic clinic. The children who receive an Autism diagnosis from our Evaluation/Diagnostic Team and who qualify for the waiver are provided with follow-up consultation and recommendations on a monthly and quarterly basis.
