Project Description:
The purpose of this study is develop a Community Health Inclusion Index that is valid and reliable and a solutions database to provide criteria-based solutions to building healthy communities for people with disabilities. The study will employ mixed methods that includes both qualitative (expert panel, focus group, and cognitive interviews) and quantitative (traditional and modern psychometric methods) approaches. The proposal will include the following phases: 1) instrument development, 2) instrument validation, 3) data analysis, 4) development of a best-practices database. We will collect data from geographically representative urban, suburban, and rural communities across the U.S. to provide evidence-based research that is not only generalizable but cost-effective.
