        Project Description:
Training, Screening and Interventions of NDD in infancy The Federal Government of Nigeria in 1999 introduced the National Programme on Immunization (NPI),outlining the implementation of the State and Local Government Area (LGA) immunization programs. NPI clinics provide an opportunity to screen for childhood NDD in infancy. In this project, training workshops will be organized for the NPI Staff at the primary care levels. The objective of the training will be to provide general knowledge about childhood development, NDD and screening instruments, and the need for surveillance and screening in early identification and intervention. Findings from this project will be shared with organizations such as UNICEF, CBM, States and Federal Ministries of Health in Nigeria with the aim of collaborating with these Ministries and Organizations to formulate National policy that will adopt the introduction and incorporation of surveillance and screening for childhood NDD into routine NPI with the objective of future wider implementation and scaling up.
