Delaware School Climate Survey

        Project Description:
The Delaware School Climate Surveys (DSCS) are administered by staff from the Centers Delaware Positive Behavior Support Project under the leadership of the projects faculty partner from the University of Delaware's School of Education. The DSCS include Student, Teacher/Staff, and Home versions which allows for input from all key stakeholders and comparison of results across informants. Each survey consists of subscales measuring important dimensions of school climate as well as bullying victimization. The home survey asks parents to indicate if their child has a disability and the extent to which the child is included in the general education classroom. Research strongly supports the validity and reliability of the surveys and the subscales are all grounded in research and theory regarding their importance in academic achievement and social and emotional development. The surveys are offered to schools statewide and are used in over 70% of Delaware public schools.
