Accessible Instructional Materials
Project Description:
CDS is partnering with the Delaware Department of Education and the Delaware Division for the Visually Impaired to help students, families, educators, and administrators understand the value of Accessible Instruction Materials and the ways to match student needs to various print alternatives. It also operates the centralized Delaware Aim Center which fulfills requests for AIM from public schools statewide and maintains a repository of materials. This project is helping Delaware meet its obligations to students with print disabilities through provision of accessible instructional materials. Through a partnership with the Delaware Department of Education and the Delaware Division for the Visually Impaired, CDS provides information about the value of AIM as well as training and teaching assistance about ways to match student needs to alternatives for standard print to students, families, educators, and administrators. This project also operates a centralized Delaware AIM center, which fulfills requests for AIM on behalf of public school students statewide and maintains a repository of accessible materials.
