Project Description:
Participants will learn to implement tools and strategies that promote youth development and self-advocacy skills for all students. The intent of this course is to provide participants with a framework for understanding how youth development can prepare youth to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood. Participants will be able to use this structure to teach and provide mentoring in areas of effective communication, goal-setting, problem-solving, informed decision-making, and leadership ? all necessary skills for youth development. The course will focus on how to prepare youth to take lead in advocating for their career development, and community participation. Participants will understand the principles of youth development and integrate these principles into their work with all students.
