Fogarty International Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities
Project Description:
MHDD program is dedicated to capacity building in mental health, developmental disabilities and health disparities through collaborative interdisciplinary and international research and training.
The Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Program (MH/DD) is a joint effort between the Children's Hospital Boston at the Harvard Medical School (HMS) and the Institute of Community Inclusion (ICI) at the Children's Hospital and the University of Massachusetts Boston.
We conduct research, coordinate seminars, promote scholarship, and hope to apply these findings to enable persons with disabilities to more fully participate in their communities. Current Federal funding sources include: Fogarty International Center/NIH, National Institute of Mental Health/NIH, and the Maternal and Child Health Bureau/HSRA.
MHDD program relies on professionals in a broad array of academic disciplines including pediatrics, psychiatry, psychology, ethics, and basic science.
The collaboration between these areas brings together the best ideas in each field to promote innovative research and creative solutions.
