Pediatric Audiology Training Grant
Project Description:
This project is designed to alleviate that national shortage of pediatric audiologists. The training is accomplished through a mentor / instructor model for two trainees per year. The goal is to teach clinical methodologies of pediatric audiology through supervised participation in focused clinics, educational settings, hospital nurseries, and the University of Miami cochlear implant team in addition to seeing scheduled outpatients for a variety of diagnostic and intervention activities.
The expected benefits focus on alleviating the national shortage of pediatric audiologists in order to promote early indentification and intervention of infants and toddlers with hearing loss.
