Project Description:
Contract with Hagerman Schools Special Education Department to consult with teachers who work directly with students that have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Overal objectives are to increase teacher's knowledge of ASD & strategies to support students with ASD in classrooms. Hagerman is a small, rural district. It is expected that teachers will gain skills which will be beneficial to the students they serve. Provide on-site observations, recommendations for staff training and attendance at a facilitated IEP; assist in the development of positive behavior, communication/language and social skills supports. Further onsite visits will assist classroom staff in implementation of IEP.
