Partners in Policymaking/Youth Leadership Contract

Center:
Fiscal Year:
2013
Contact Information:
Project Description:
The purpose of the project is to design, revise and conduct ongoing evaluation of the initial and long term outcomes of the Partners in Policymaking (PIP) and the Youth Readiness Day Training (YRDT) programs of the Tennessee Developmental Disabilities Council to assess impact of such programs on the leadership development of citizens with disabilities and their families. The ongoing evaluation of each program leads to annual refinement of the topics, presenters, and teaching methodologies. Such changes will increase the leadership knowledge, skills and behaviors of the people who participate in the programs. Measuring program outcomes is a required component of the publically funded services, and documented impact of program benefits may be used to apply for ongoing funded support. Evaluation activities will include pre-/post test evaluations of current participants in both the PIP and YRDT programs and a longitudinal survey of graduates from the PIP program.
