Project Description:
The goal of this project is to test a specialized weight loss intervention for overweight youth with intellectual disabilities compared to those who receive no intervention, and to also test a maintenance intervention compared to those who only receive the primary intervention. The program emphasizes healthy eating and daily physical activity and provides parents with training on supportive behavioral techniques to encourage the adoption and maintenance of healthy lifestyle behaviors.
