Project Description:
The Family Youth Assistance Network (FYAN) is a group that has evolved from several advocates and family members who began meeting as the Arkansas System of Care Children's Behavioral Health Care Commission Family Workgroup in 2006. The group developed bylaws, assigned a name, and became a steering committee in 2008. The purpose of FYAN is to build a network of existing family and youth support groups in the state and a mechanism to develop family and youth support groups in the parts of the state that do not have such forums established. It is also the intention of FYAN to support these families through a website, call in center, resource center, advocacy, and trainings as they develop into a network of families that are active at the local, regional and state level for behavioral health services and support behavioral, emotional and mental health needs of youth, children, and their families.
