Project Description:
CANDLE - Conditions Affecting Neurocognitive Development and Learning in Early Childhood. This collaborative research project with multiple partners tracks neurodevelopment in children from 20 weeks of gestation to age three years. Study will enroll 1500 children in the Memphis area from several different hospital systems. The study evaluates environment, toxins, home, neighvorhood and other contextual variables that affect neurodevelopment in children. BCDD disciplines involve Pediatrics, Nursing, Speech/Language and Psychology.
