Project Description:
Project Context. The national Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) supports State Education Agencies in improving results for children with disabilities. The State Improvement Grants (SIG) are funded to work with the SEAs to improve their systems of professional development, technical assistance, and dissemination of information about best practices. The recruitment and retention of highly qualified special education staff is a priority goal for improving the outcomes for these children. To this end, Nebraska Department of Education has established a 'Teach in Nebraska' website that will increase the recruitment and retention of highly qualified school personnel. Project Focus. TAESE will assist the Nebraska Department of Education in the Evaluation and Automation of the 'Teach in Nebraska' website (http://www.nebraskaeducationjobs.com/). TAESE provides technical assistance and consultation in the areas of recruitment and retention of highly qualified school staff.
