PEERS Virtual Coach Research Study

Project Description:
This is a one-year research study that is funded to test the efficacy of using a virtual coach application on mobile devices in addition to receiving a care-giver assisted social skills intervention. Social skills training will be provided 90 minutes per week for 14 weeks for adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Treatment will be provided by licensed clinical psychologists and graduate student coaches at the UCLA Semel Institute over a one year period. Approximately 30 participants will be assigned to one of three research conditions: treatment with parent assistance, treatment with virtual assistance coaching through a mobile application, or delayed treatment controlled condition.
