Project Description:
1) There is a need within the state of Wyoming for increased access to and acquisition of assistive technology as defined by the Assistive Technology Act of 1998 (reauthorized 2004.) 2) Overall goals and objectives include the administration of device loans, device reutilization, device demonstrations, an alternative financing program, training and technical assistance, public awarness, information and assistance, and collaboration to assist individuals with disabilities and their families, caregivers and the professionals who work with them, specifically in the realms of education, employment, community living, and IT/Telecommunications. 3) Expected benefits include increased access and acquisition of assistive technology by individuals with disabilities to assist them to function and participate more fully and more independently in the areas of education, employment, community service, and IT/Telecommunication.
