ACS AHRQ Evidence Based Centers Review on measurement of outcomes for people with disabilities
Project Description:
Examines the literature to describe how health care outcomes are measured for people with disabilities. The challenge is that most measures focus on the general population and do not include the special needs of people with disabilities. Furthermore, those measures that do exist for people with disabilities are typically specific to a subpopulation (e.g., people with intellectual disabilities) and are not appropriate for other subpopulations.
In this project, researchers from the Research and Training Center on Community Living assist lead researchers from the University of Minnesota's School of Public Health to refine project research questions, identify experts to be involved in the project, provide resources collected on health outcomes for people with disabilities, and write a project report to be published in the AHRQ Closing the Quality Gap Series.
