Project Description:
Inclusion training with the Westchester Child Care Council
To conduct two 3-session series to support meaningful inclusion of children with disabilities in child care. The intention is increase teacher/provider knowledge of: disabilities in general, the referral-evaluation-IFSP/IEP process, team approaches, and developing meaningful intervention outcomes in collaboration with providers and families. Homework was assigned in between sessions and it involved application of the knowledge and skills embedded in the training. Participants included individuals who provide family day care as well as individuals employed at child care centers.
