Project Description:
The UCEDD program housed in the Graduate School of Public Health, University of Puerto Rico have established an agreement of collaboration with the RCDC LEND to establish a satellite training program in Puerto Rico to serve as a foundation for applying for a new LEND program in the future. RCDC Associate Director, Stephan Viehweg, is quite familiar with the program in Puerto Rico from consulting with it over several years for early intervention services. Stephan Viehweg and Dr. Annie Alonzo, Director of the Puerto Rico UCEDD are well known to each other having worked together on many previous occasions. The proposed collaboration involves visits to each otherÂs program and an exchange and electronic connection for multiple trainees preparing for an eventual competitive application for LEND funding from MCHB to establish a LEND in Puerto Rico.
