Jump Start: An early learning center enhancement model

Project Description:
The Jump Start program is a free program funded by the Children?s Trust to help early childcare centers to improve mental health of children, improve safety of the centers, reduce health risks, and improve nutrition. The child care centers are assigned a care coordinator, who will conduct initial needs assessments with center staff, as well as provide trainings focusing on the four child-health areas. The services provided are based on ?best practice? recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics and Healthy Childcare America. Participating centers are offered a minimum of 10 in-service hours for the staff.
