Project Description:
Need- Increase the number of children that are screened in rural and remote communities, help to better coordinate the early identification and screening process across the state of Alaska.
Goals:
Goal #1:
In rural Alaska, improve and coordinate the system of early identification, developmental screening, and diagnosis of children with suspected autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders in partnership with Providence Neurodevelopmental Center through the development of a rapid response team.
Goal #2:
Children 0-3 will be successfully connected with the ILP program for services and a medical home, leading to earlier initiations of services and a replicable model of early identification and service provision across the state.
Goal #3:
The project will be aligned with the goals established by the State Needs Assessment Plan for improving services for individuals with ASD and the Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems (ECCS) plan to assure continuity and sustainability.
