Project Description:
This project represents the second generation of the Texas Training Initiative project, Leadership Agent Teams, which was a program designed to increase the self advocacy skills of individuals with cognitive disabilities, primarily mental retardation, and enhance the community participation of these individuals. Participants in Project US will receive culturally relevant training and technical assistance in identifying, and obtaining the resources, supports, and services needed to support their choices. Training and technical assistance will be provided in multiple locations to three audiences: people with cognitive disabilities, their families, and community service providers. Community education, technical assistance, and dissemination activities will be conducted by the Texas UCDD.
