Project Description:
The purpose of this training series is to cross-train a diverse cross-section of service providers and case managers from poverty reduction programs and disability-related services on a variety of under-utilized resources to reduce poverty among persons with disabilities. Modules include the following topics: household budgeting; understanding credit scores; tax credits, deductions, and free tax filing services; Individual development accounts; Family Self Sufficiency program; web-based state benefit software; Financial Freedom software; work incentives counseling. Expected benefits include increase knowledge and awareness among service providers who will be in a better position to provide information, referral, and outreach for consumers to use the services.
