Maine's Inclusion Project: A Collaborative Effort of the Maine Commission for Community Service and CCIDS

Center:
Fiscal Year:
2012
Contact Information:
Project Description:
The project is designed to support the inclusion of individuals with developmental disabilities in national and community service (i.e., Americorps). This project is a collaborative effort of Maine's Commission for Community Service and The University of Maine Center for Community Inclusion and Disability Studies, UCEDD. The goal for this project is to develop and publish a document to provide guidance to foster inclusive volunteer programs in the state of Maine. In 2010 under a previous agreement with the Maine Commission for Community Service, CCIDS developed a draft version of Inclusion Competencies for Managers of Volunteers. The scope of work for this year builds upon that foundation.
