        Project Description:
For the first three years the lead partners are Cathedral Tenants United (Boston), Employment Resources (Norwood), and the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (Worcester). Additional local service teams will be developed in the third year of the project for the purposes of replicating the project more broadly across the state.
Term: 5 years
Project Description:
Despite the unparalleled economic growth that occurred during the past decade, the unemployment rate for individuals with disabilities in the United States is estimated to be 70%. With a high percentage of individuals with disabilities living in some type of subsidized housing, it is essential to include the housing industry in the development of new employment initiatives. Partnerships for Employment brings together the housing industry, the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, and One-Stop Career Centers to assist individuals with disabilities who live in subsidized housing to obtain employment.
The project, through its partners, provides services to help participants obtain and maintain employment and opportunities for career advancement. 375 people will receive services, with the goal of 225 finding jobs. In addition, ICI provides training and technical assistance to enhance service delivery, address barriers to service integration, and develop local capacity to meet the employment needs of individuals with disabilities who live in subsidized housing.
