ACS CMS Workforce Data Collection Technical Assistance to National Balancing Indicators States
Project Description:
Providing direct support to people with disabilities or medical needs is the fastest growing occupation in the United States. However, neither federal nor state data systems adequately capture the size of the workforce, the stability of the workforce, or the wages and benefits earned by people in this workforce. This project assists states to establish baselines for each of these topics across disability populations, age groups and setting types.
Collaborate with the CMS Direct Support Worker Resource Center to create, pilot, field and analyze statewide census surveys describing the direct support workforce for seven CMS State Profile Tool grantees in the National Balancing Indicators project. Provide technical assistance to participating states throughout the survey development, implementation and analysis process. Develop a toolkit with surveys, methodology and report templates that can be used by other states to implement similar data collection efforts.
