International Society on Early Intervention - Conference - NYC May 2011
Project Description:
International conferences provide a means for ISEI to further foster communication and research collaboration. The first ISEI conference was held in Rome, Italy in 2003 and the second in Zagreb, Croatia in 2007. The third ISEI Conference was held in New York City in May of 2011. There were 233 papers and 54 posters representing 35 countries and more than 500 authors presented at the conference. Throughout the four days of the conference nearly 2000 attendees participated in formal sessions and networking activities. Future plans were made to host regional conferences, encourage early interventions by establishing an Optional Protocol to the United Nations Consortium for Rights of Children, and to provide a mentoring feature on the ISEI website for young international professionals in the field of early intervention.
