Project Description:
Arkansas Can Do initiated through Partners for Inclusive Communities Consumer Committee, is a collaborative group of individuals with disabilities, family members, and representatives from multiple agencies and organizations. The purpose is "To conduct a statewide multimedia campaign to increase the positive perceptions of all people regarding the vitality, importance and value of persons with disabilities." The theme of the media campaign is "Believe Achieve." Products include four 30 second Public Service Announcements, two posters, a display, educational workshops, T-Shirts, brochures, bookmarks, and stickers. The committee activities are funded through in-kind contributions as well as small grants received by participating organizations.
Participating organizations include: Partners for Inclusive Communities; Partners Consumer Committee; Arkansas People First; AR Governor's Developmental Disabilities Council; AR Rehabilitation Services; Disability Rights Center; Department of Human Services, Divisions of Developmental Disabilities Services, Behavioral Health Services, and Aging and Adult Services; DHS Arkansas Service Commission; H.I.R.E. Incorporated; Arkansas Disability Coalition; Delta Resource Center; Mainstream Incorporated; Advocates for Real Life; Little Rock Civitan Club; Arc of Arkansas; and Arkansas Department of Health.
