Project

Quantitative Clinical Measures of Muscle Strength, Gait and Function in Boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy: Comparison to Assessments of Lean Body

Center:
Fiscal Year:
2011
Contact Information:
Project Description:
Longitudinal clinical measures of function in boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy using current quantitative assessment tools are important to establish normalized profiles of disease progression and to accurately assess effects of interventions. Success of clinical trials of emerging therapies is highly dependent on outcome measures which accurately measure change across the life span. The use of corticosteroids in patient management has altered the rate of progression and new normative data needed.
