Latino Parents Perceptions of Health Care Transition Planning Services and Resources
Project Description:
The purpose of this study is to examine the parental perceptions pertaining to the cultural competence and sensitivity of health care services provided to their transition aged youth. Other information gathered will include resources parents access to obtain information and strategies parents use when information is not available in Spanish.
The objectives of this study are to:
1. Examine the parental perceptions of Spanish speaking parents related to the cultural sensitivity of services provided to their transition-aged youth.
2. Investigate their ideas and suggestions to improve services provided to youth who prepare to make the transition from pediatric to adult health care.
3. Investigate the resouces Spanish speaking parents use to obtain health care information.
4. Study the strategies Spanish speaking parents use when information is not available in Spanish.
