        Project Description:
The Lower Hudson Valley Regional Technology Center (RTC) helps children and adults with disabilities in Westchester and Rockland counties access the assistive technology needed to promote independence and community involvement. RTC services include: information and referral on assistive devices and services; hands-on demonstrations of devices; workshops, publications and presentations to increase public awareness of assistive technology; and individual tutoring in the use of devices and software. Individuals and families learn about their rights to assistive technology and become better educated about specific devices. School and agency personnel learn about devices and how to integrate their use into developmental, educational and vocational programs. Administrators and policy makers learn about mandated services and model approaches to providing them.
