Project Description:

There is a demonstrated need for trained health professionals in the field of developmental disabilities. The MCH LEND project provides training to advanced students in health professions to enable them to recognize and deal appropriately with developmental disabilities. This project provides interdisciplinary training that demonstrates the interdependence of health professionals and the contributions of various disciplines to understanding, preventing, and treating developmental disabilities. The expected benefits include lower incidence of disabilities, earlier recognition and intervention, lessened severity of disabilities, and improved quality of life for people with disabilities and their families.
