Project Description:
Guam CEDDERS facilitated training and technical assistance in the development and implementation of activities to increase parents' involvement in their children's education that would lead to their children's success in school. Project DREAMS was provided with consultation support on the implementation and monitoring of the early childhood "Home Visiting" program. Facilitation included:
1. Facilitation of up to 8 hours of weekly staffing for 18 weeks with PIRC Home Visitors, to include working group meetings on the refinement of the standard operating procedures to provide home visiting services.
2. Coaching and mentoring for a total of 24 hours for home visitors on the Guam Early Learning Guidelines (GELG) - "Hugando" Book.
3. Conducting a full 20-hour parent training on the GELG for up to 20 parents.
4. Providing a total of 24 hours coaching and mentoring for PIRC Parent Mentors on training parents to implement strategies identified in the GELG.
