The Arkansas Disability and Health Program at Partners for Inclusive Communities, a program of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, has been working to promote the health of persons with disabilities and prevent secondary conditions since 2001. Through collaboration with a wide spectrum of disability and/or health related organizations, the Arkansas Disability and Health Program has made great strides in improving health and wellness for Arkansans with disabilities. Using funds from the current proposal, ADHP will pursue one goal ? Chapter 3 Access to Treatment Goal A. Ensure that all Arkansans affected by cancer are aware of and have access to, appropriate, high quality care. Objective 4. Increase accessibility and utilization of cancer treatment education resources. With the assistance of Accessibility Ambassadors, ADHP staff will survey 5 mammography clinics and 5 cancer treatment facilities for accessibility of facility, services and patient education materials. ADHP will also research accessible and culturally appropriate cancer treatment educational resources and develop a Health Brief: Cancer and Disabilities in Arkansas to be disseminated to cancer treatment facilities around the state.
