Project Description:
Teens and young adults in the Los Angeles area have fewer opportunities for recreation and physical activity as compared to younger children. This was a joint program between the Tarjan Center at UCLA, UCLA Recreation and the UCLA/Orthopaedic Hospital Center for Cerebral Palsy. Teens and young adults with physical and intellectual disabilities were recruited using flyers, web sites and recreation program distribution methods. Approximately 15 participants will complete the Winter and Spring programs. Volunteers including UCLA students participate in addition to the recreation staff.
